Joseph Tse is a portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments. Based in Hong Kong, he currently manages Fidelity Far East Fund, for Canadian investors, and Fidelity Asian Special Situations Fund, for investors outside of Canada. Since 1996, Joseph has also managed the Asian portions of a number of global equity funds.
Joseph joined Fidelity in 1990 as an analyst covering Hong Kong and Chinese equities. In 1993, he became an assistant portfolio manager of several regional equity funds. From 1994 to 1996, he was director of research and portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments Management (Hong Kong). In this position, Joseph was responsible for running the Hong Kong research team covering all of Asia, with the exception of Japan, as well as portfolio management duties for Fidelity Hong Kong and China Fund, and Fidelity ASEAN Fund. Joseph has been managing money full-time since 1996 and is no longer managing the research team.
Before joining Fidelity, Joseph was a consultant for Peat Marwick Management Consultants Limited in Hong Kong from 1989 to 1990. He was an assistant manager for corporate banking and finance for the Hong Kong office of Chase Manhattan Bank from 1987 to 1989.
Joseph received a BSc in business administration from the University of Southern California in 1985 and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in 1987. In 1993, he received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
